Power Blackjack is a variant of Blackjack found in brick and mortar casinos and also online casinos like online roulette and poker, but Blackjack remains one of the most popular.
If your two-card combination is a total of nine, ten or eleven and you choose to double down you have an added option to discard your next card if you believe you have a greater chance of improving your hand. This is called the “power double”.
If your two-card combination is a total of fifteen or sixteen you can choose to “power split”. Your cards are then split as if they are a pair in ordinary blackjack and you receive two different cards to create two different sets of hands.
These rule changes gives the player some additional edges against the house so to claw a bit back there is a rule changed to suit the house. If the Dealer gets a hard 22 then all players main game bets are pushed. In the case of a player being dealt blackjack the dealer will not attempt to draw 22. An eight-card player hand whose value does not exceed 21 will also beat a Dealers 22.
Power Blackjack is played with six decks of cards, shuffled for each hand of play. If you split aces the player will only receive one card and the dealer draws to 16.
